LOVE

A physiological, theosophical and scientific analysis

                                                              By: - Dr. S Pattanaik.

Love is an intricate psycho neurotic phenomena indicating affection & liking with desire for intimacy. It may be between two or more living individuals. It is generated in stimulation of psycho-sensory excitement effecting neuro-muscular organs of living creatures. Its presence was detected in the earliest evolved animals -the animalcules like amoeba. In fact, these primitive organisms are shaped by plasma like materials covered by a membrane – it is shapeless and adopts a shape according the environment, it lives.  An ameba manifests   love in their mating period.  When two of the amoebas find a chance to be nearer, they develop an attraction to fuse together and become one. After living for some length, in this form, it breaks down to produce two or more pieces and each piece starts an individual life – mimicking sexual propagation & the love or likeness in rudimentary form.

The process of evolution of living creatures marches ahead from unicellular > multi-cellular > invertebrate to vertebrates; the latest being the humanity.

In human beings, the highest form of living creatures, this love or likeness in a variety form develop to complex psychoneurotic phenomenon.   It initiates desire to live, work together, form a society that may extend to united living in small villages to larger settlements like countries. This helps security &more protection individually and in groups ‘Like’ is a synonym of love in its lesser form. I love my garden, teacher love intelligent students, mother loves her children; in all these sentences ‘love can be replaced by intense likeness.

In case of males and females, in animals (the vertebrates) or human beings, after their late childhood, there flourish gonads, the organs with sexual functions. These are testes in males and ovaries in females. They secrete hormones those stimulate sex organs and augments amorous excitements in mind. During this period there occurs psycho-neural augmentation of the desire for sex which is meant for procreation and continuation of life cycle – a natural process.

Science of evolution makes it clear that an organism, after taking its shape, responds to two things. For adversity against its life, it attempts to fight its opponents. Reverse occurs when they meet each other with affection - like or love.

Love in its intense form is lust. It is a magic spell stimulating all the reproductive systems of the players, the male and females, to perform sexual act without care or consciousness to pregnancy or social norms. Sometimes there may occur reverse, the frigidity, a condition where there is diminishing or absence of sex desire. Usually females are less sensual than males who may be hyper active at times that causes disturbances like ‘Me-too’, ‘Casting couch etc. In more acute or aggressive forms abduction, suicide, rape or murder results.

Love continues to flourish if scarifies an intelligent dealing maintain. On such love, persons can make supreme sacrifice of everything for a marriage or live-in relation. Adverse psychical factors or defective sex organs or hormonal imbalance causes disagreements and permanent separation.

Lust in pathogenic form causes extreme disasters. Great wars in the world were fought in history for possession of beauty ladies by valiant king or knights. In present days ghastly murder is committed for unilateral lust not love.

Also in humanity, besides natural factors, artificial factors like alcohol, aphrodisiac drugs may induce carnal desire of damaging modesty, infatuation, rape and even murder.

Homosexual marriage, having long agreeable togetherness is a blessed life but without ability to reproduce their off-springs, a natural aim of one’s life.

Love & its relation to heart: -

In earlier days heart is considered as the main organ that sustains life and love is most powerful factor to rear it. So it is thought that the heart and love are dependent on each other. Next organ considered to sustain life was brain. Amazingly, it is now found that,   the life can sustain itself without brain.

It is not a verbosity to understand that love is an attraction comparable to that of opposite poles of a magnet or between electrons and protons to form atoms that shape our universe.
